CAB Sutton’s 2026 Holiday Food Drive

Important dates

 To make a donation

  • Starting Monday, November 16 – Knights of Columbus donation boxes will be placed in several businesses in Sutton and Abercorn to collect cash donations.

  • Saturday, December 5 – CAB volunteers will be at IGA Sutton to collect cash and food donations.

  • Sunday, December 6 – The door-to-door collection will take place in the neighbourhoods of Sutton and Abercorn. Remember to prepare your donations in advance!

  • Monday, December 7 to Friday, December 11 – You can drop off cash or in-kind donations directly at CAB Sutton, located at 7 Maple Street, during opening hours.

 To receive a holiday food basket

  • Until Friday, November 20 – Deadline to request a holiday food basket.

  • Saturday, December 12 – Holiday food basket distribution.

Do you live in Sutton or Abercorn and could use a little extra help with food this holiday season? CAB Sutton is preparing holiday food baskets for individuals and families in our community who need them.

You can apply until November 20.

Monetary

  • Cash donations in the Knights of Columbus collection boxes
    • At most businesses in Sutton and Abercorn from November 16.
  • By cheque dropped off at the CAB
    • Tax receipt upon request for donations by cheque

In kind

We gratefully accept the items listed below. Please ensure that all products are new, in unopened packaging, and are items that you would use or consume yourself.

Food Items:

  • Basic staples : pasta, rice, couscous, quinoa, flour, sugar, cereal (boxes)
  • Canned and jarred goods : soups, vegetables, legumes (beans, chickpeas, lentils), tomato sauce / canned tomatoes, canned tuna, salmon or chicken, canned fruit.
  • Prepared foods / essentials : peanut butter or other nut butters, jams, assorted sauces (pasta sauce, chili sauce, etc.), broth (beef, chicken, vegetable), UHT milk or plant-based milk (shelf-stable).
  • Non-perishable snacks : granola bars, cookies, crackers.

Personal and Household Hygiene Products:

  • For families : diapers (especially sizes 5 and 6), baby wipes, body wash, shampoo and conditioner, deodorant.
  • Oral and feminine hygiene : toothpaste, toothbrushes (children and adults), dental floss, tampons, sanitary pads, panty liners.
  • Essential household products : laundry detergent, dish soap, toilet paper, tissues, paper towels.
